Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS),  or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5 cm)  in the body. Laparoscopic surgery has largely replaced open surgery in most abdominal surgeries and has several advantages over traditional open surgery, namely;

  • Much less pain

  • Faster recovery from surgery

  • Less likely to develop wound infections

  • Much better cosmetic result

  • Less complications such as hernia

Laparoscopic surgery has revolutionized the way the following conditions are treated. All these can be performed with laparoscopic approach and we offer them at Minimally Invasive Surgery Associates.

  • Appendicitis

  • Gall stones (Cholelithiasis)

  • Hernia Repair- both inguinal and ventral hernias

  • Surgery for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

  • Colon surgery
